Munnar Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Morning: Arrive at Cochin International Airport (COK) and begin the 4-hour drive to Munnar.

Pit-stops: Stop at Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls along the highway for your first taste of the Western Ghats.

Afternoon: Check into your resort. Many resorts are tucked away in tea estates—take an hour just to sit on your balcony.

Evening: Visit the Tata Tea Museum to understand how the region transformed from a forest into a tea hub.
Day 2
Morning: Head toward Mattupetty Dam. You can take a speed boat ride here.

Mid-day: Visit Echo Point (it actually works!) and the serene Kundala Lake.

Afternoon: Drive up to Top Station, the highest point on the Munnar-Kodaikanal road. If the weather is clear, you’ll see the plains of Tamil Nadu.

Evening: Stop by the Rose Garden on your way back to town.
Day 3
Morning: Visit Eravikulam National Park. This is the home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goats). Note: Book your tickets online in advance to avoid long queues.

Mid-day: Drive further toward Lakkam Waterfalls. It’s a great spot for a quick dip or some photography.

Afternoon: Explore the Sandalwood Forests of Marayoor. It’s one of the few places in India where sandalwood grows naturally.

Evening: See the Anamudi Peak (the highest peak in South India) from a distance as you head back.
Day 4
Early Morning (4:30 AM): Rent a 4x4 Jeep for a trip to Kolukkumalai, the world's highest organic tea plantation. The sunrise here, above the clouds, is often the highlight of the entire trip.

Late Morning: Have breakfast at the top and tour the old-school tea factory that still uses 100-year-old equipment.

Afternoon: Return to your hotel and nap—you’ve earned it!

Evening: A quiet walk through the Pothamedu Viewpoint for a sunset over the rolling hills.
Day 5
Morning: Visit a Spice Plantation. You’ll see how cardamom, pepper, vanilla, and cinnamon actually grow.

Mid-day: Head to Lockhart Gap Viewpoint for some of the most expansive views of the valley.

Evening: Attend a Kathakali (classical dance) and Kalaripayattu (martial arts) performance in Munnar town. These shows are incredibly high-energy and culturally rich.
Day 6
Morning: Do some last-minute shopping in Munnar Town.

Must-buys: Fresh tea leaves, homemade chocolates, and essential oils (eucalyptus and lemongrass).

Afternoon: Begin your drive back to Kochi for your flight or train.
